02/08/2004
In attendance were: Mike, Jim, Leesa, Anne, and Judi Locations for Equinox rite were discussed. Consensus was for using the Northern Reservable area at High Banks again. The 7 am to 4 pm time slot was selected as best, just in case there happens to be a major sporting event that day (*cough* NCAA basketball *cough). Note -- even though we would technically have the shelter from 7 am on, we would not be starting that early. There have been no new members joined since the last business meeting. Community service options proposed for this quarter: - Parks and Recreation (not much on their site, but I called and we'd have to pick a park and then call the rep for that park to find out what they need us to do) - Ohio Department of Natural Resources (http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/programdirectory/volunteer.htm) - Project Open Hand (http://www.livejournal.com/community/columbus/548171.html) Community service options proposed for next quarter: - Comfest (http://www.comfest.com/forvolunteers.htm) Nate has an Earth Mother invocation that he would like to use to replace the current one and should be posting it to the group soon. (HINT HINT NATE :) The 21st will be the Sumbel. The cabin idea has been ditched due to costs. A hotel room(s) in town will be procured for this event. There will be a separate email regarding this. The next DP study group meeting will be the 21st prior to the Sumbel at the same location (i.e. the room(s) where the Sumbel will be). Omens from Imbolc were: - Ansuz - Mannaz - Wunjo (or as Mike says, it's going to be raining men and we are to enjoy them.) Jim (and Leesa) have uploaded his banner idea to the group page. Please look it over and forward opinions to the list. --- Judi Nielsen Three Cranes Scribe
